2016 Chateau Tour Bayard Saint-Émilion
Chateau Tour Bayard comes from an appellation on the right bank of Bordeaux called Montagne Saint-Émilion. This is a satellite appellation to the famous region of Saint-Émilion and although it is a lesser-known appellation it has similar soil and climate conditions. This means we can get wines of similar quality at much more reasonable prices. As with most right bank wines, Tour Bayard is mostly Merlot, which offers a depth of fruit that plays well with the typical earthy and tangy elements found in many Bordeaux wines. 2016 was a fabulous vintage in Bordeaux and the wine is both drinking well now and age-worthy. Chateau Tour Bayard is owned and operated by the Xavier Milhade family. The estate is only 10 hectares where everything is done by hand and organic viticulture techniques are implemented
