Lazas Albarino, Rias Baixas

Laxas Albarino is a great food wine since it has texture and acid to hold up to grilled veggies, chicken/turkey, pork, and many other dishes. It's lovely with Asian dishes and spicy food as well. A drier style but not mouth-drying with lovely flavours of fresh apple, pear and lemon with underlying wet stone character.

AS Laxas is a family estate in its 4th generation in Rias Baixas. Simon Ferro and his family took the winery from a small, single hectare farm to an award-winning winery with 50 hectares. We first tried Laxas Albarino several years ago in a little seafood restaurant down in Montana. We liked it so much that we reached out to the winery and it's been one of our best-selling whites ever since.
