Chateau Pavie

The 2020 Pavie is undoubtedly one of the wines of the year. Rich, with an inky depth of color and wonderfully vibrant, it bursts with energy from start to finish. All the elements are beautifully balanced. The exhilarating aromas of Cabernet Franc lead to a core of fine, deep fruit in a wine with a seemingly endless finish. The harvest for the red wines began on September 17th, was briefly interrupted by rain on September 25th and 26th, and then completed at the end of the month. The blend is composed of 50% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Franc, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon—more Cabernet than in the past, the result of a large-scale replanting program that began in the early 2000s. A true gem. Magnificent! Drink now: 2035 to 2060.
