Juvé & Camps Essential Púrpura Reserva
Juves & Camps began in 1796 when Joan Juvé Mir laid the groundwork for the company. Later, his son Antoni Juvé Escaiola took over the vineyards, successfully tackling the horrible scourge of phylloxera. Joan Juvé Baqués, son of Antoni Juvé Escaiola and husband of Teresa Camps Ferrer, set up the underground facilities in the family home (casa pairal) in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia to make the first sparkling wine under the Juvé brand name.
Essential Púrpura is one of those brands. A blend of the Penedès white grape trilogy: Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada. Most of these grapes come from plots in Espiells, the estate’s main vineyard, located at an altitude between 180 and 250 metres above sea level and featuring loam-limestone soils. The remainder comes from neighbouring growers’ vineyards who, supported by the wineries technical team, share with them the same philosophy of respect and meticulous care for the vine. It is aged for 24 months and is a brut in dryness.
Bright pale gold with appealing notes of fennel, white flowers, green apple and baked bread. It's crisp, persistent bubbles evolve into a creamy, seductive texture with a harmonious finish.
